April 2015

HB1032 passed and was signed by the Governor. This law will improve the language in our Colorado Revised Statutes to make it clear that all licensed professionals can treat minors 15-17 without parental consent. This is a practice DORA has endorsed for decades, but the language in the Colorado Revised Statutes just needed to spell it out more clearly. Thanks to all members who contacted their legislators asking for support of this Bill, as well as COAMFT President Jenn Matheson for testifying with other  mental health professionals in support of this legislation. All of our efforts worked!
